Blues vs Canucks

Blues vs Canucks: Louis Blues were a desperate team and played like it Sunday, firing 49 shots at the Vancouver Canucks and finally earning a 3-2 overtime win. The official 2020 NHL playoff matchup page of the Boston Bruins vs the Carolina Hurricanes including news. The official 2020 NHL playoff matchup page of the Boston Bruins vs the Carolina Hurricanes including news.

The Boston Bruins were the NHL’s best team during the regular season. That hasn’t translated thus far to the 2020 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs. They dropped all three of their seeding games and are now tied 1-1 in a series against the Carolina Hurricanes, a team that swept the New York Rangers in its qualifying series. Boston will look to regain the series edge when these sides meet up on Saturday.

The opening face-off from Scotiabank Arena in Toronto is set for noon ET. Boston is the -120 favorite on the money line in the latest Hurricanes vs. Bruins odds from William Hill, while the over-under for total goals scored is 5.5. Before making any Bruins vs. Hurricanes picks, check out the NHL predictions from the SportsLine Projection Model.

This model simulates every NHL game 10,000 times, taking into account factors like current form, individual matchups, injuries and short- and long-term trends when making NHL picks. The model seeks the best values on the money line, puck line and total.

Now, the model has set its sights on Bruins vs. Hurricanes. You can visit SportsLine now to see the picks. Here are the NHL odds from William Hill and trends for Hurricanes vs. Bruins:

Bruins vs. Hurricanes money line: Boston -120, Carolina +100
Bruins vs. Hurricanes puck line: Boston -1.5
Bruins vs. Hurricanes over-under: 5.5 goals
BOS: Led the NHL this season in goal differential (+53)
CAR: Had a 19-13-3 record playing away from home in the regular season
Why you should back the Bruins
The Bruins have had a lot of success against Carolina in the playoffs recently. Boston swept the Hurricanes last season in dominant fashion and then took Game 1 this year before Carolina struck back with a Game 2 win. The Bruins are also hoping to get high-scoring wing David Pastrnak (undisclosed) back in the lineup on Saturday after he missed Game 2.

If he’s able to go, he completes one of the best top lines in the NHL as he joins Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand. If not, Boston still can fall back on a defense that gives up just 2.39 goals/per game. Goalie Tuukka Rask gave up just 2.12 goals/per game during the regular season, and if he plays at that level, Boston has a great chance to get the win on Saturday.

Why you should back the Hurricanes
Even so, that doesn’t guarantee that Boston is the better value on the Bruins vs. Hurricanes money line. Carolina’s offense is rolling right now, scoring at least three goals in all five games played in Toronto thus far. Dougie Hamilton registered the game winner in Game 2 with 11:30 remaining, giving the Hurricanes confidence that they can make this a series.

Wing Sebastian Aho leads the charge offensively 38 goals and 28 assists. Wing Teuvo Teravainen leads the squad with 48 assists. Carolina has won seven of eight overall dating back to before the shutdown and have won four straight on one day of rest. If Pastrnak, who has 48 goals this season, is unable to go, or less than 100 percent, that also certainly boosts Carolina’s chances.

How to make Bruins vs. Hurricanes picks
SportsLine’s model is leaning over on the total, as the simulation gives Bergeron and Aho the best chance to score a goal for their respective side. It also says one side of the money line has the value. You can only get the pick at SportsLine.

It’s been a full decade since the Los Angeles Lakers have won the NBA title. The Milwaukee Bucks and Los Angeles Clippers have never won it. Meanwhile, the Toronto Raptors will be looking to win championships in back-to-back years.

There’s a lot of competition for this year’s NBA title, and any one of 16 teams could end this unorthodox season by celebrating with the Larry O’Brien Trophy. On Monday, the path to get there begins as the NBA playoffs get underway at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Disney World.

The playoff bracket isn’t finalized yet, though, as the Portland Trail Blazers and Memphis Grizzlies are set to face off in a Western Conference play-in game on Saturday. And if the Grizzlies win, the teams will have to play again Sunday in a winner-take-all scenario. Portland would move on with just one win as the No. 8 seed.

ESPN owns exclusive broadcast rights to the Eastern Conference finals, and TNT covers the Western Conference finals. Every game during the NBA Finals will be shown exclusively on ABC.

Over 10 months after the 2019-20 NBA season began, the playoff field is finally set, with the action set to get underway on the afternoon of Monday, Aug. 17. For the first time in league history, the final spot in the postseason picture was determined by a play-in game between the eighth and ninth seeds in the Western Conference. The Portland Trail Blazers came out victorious over the Memphis Grizzlies in that game, and as a result they will face off against the top-seeded Los Angeles Lakers in the first round.

Due to the need to play inside of the bubble at Disney World, home-court advantage has been largely eliminated this year, since there is no travel, no fans in attendance, and no true home or away teams. Otherwise, the format remains the largely same, with the top eight teams in each conference playing best-of-seven series, and the winner of each conference meeting in the Finals, which are scheduled to begin on Sept. 30.

Here’s a look at the schedule for every day of the first round of the 2020 NBA Playoffs.
Despite all the uncertainty surrounding the 2019-20 season, the NBA finds itself in a (somewhat) normal position: 16 teams fighting for a shot at the title.

The first round of the 2020 NBA playoffs is set to begin Aug. 17 inside the league’s “bubble” at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Fla. The postseason should end no later than Oct. 13, as long as teams can avoid a coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak within the campus. The environment has proven to be safe thus far, so there is optimism a champion will be crowned in the near future.

76ers vs Celtics Stream

76ers vs Celtics Stream: The Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers will renew their rivalry Monday night in Game 1 of their first round NBA playoff series. The Celtics and 76ers have faced off in the postseason more than any other two teams in the NBA.

30. Kawhi Leonard’s first foray in the postseason with the Los Angeles Clippers begins with a potentially tricky matchup against Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks.

The defensive skills of Leonard and Paul George will be put to the test in the first-round series against a team that played solid basketball during the eight seeding games in the bubble.

How well Leonard and George contain the Dallas offense could alter the betting markets throughout the series as well. The Clippers and Mavericks have the only over/under set above 230 for Game 1.

The scoring expectations are much lower for the Miami Heat and Indiana Pacers because of the way the Heat limited the scoring of the Pacers’ top players in their previous clashes.

If Miami keeps up its high defensive standard against Indiana, the second round of the Eastern Conference playoffs could be set fairly quick. Although most people are buzzing about the first-round matchup on the other side of the Western Conference bracket between the Los Angeles Lakers and Portland Trail Blazers, the Clippers and Mavericks could have the more intriguing series.

The inside-outside combination of Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis could cause some trouble for the Clippers. Porzingis could take charge of the paint matchup with Ivica Zubac, and if he can get the Clippers center into foul trouble, he could take advantage of battles against Patrick Patterson and JaMychal Green.

In their first regular-season meeting, Zubac played 17 minutes and 52 seconds because of foul trouble and Porzingis recorded a double-double. Even with the Clippers using bench players down low, they still found a way past the Mavericks behind 54 points out of George and Leonard.

Los Angeles went on to win the other two matchups and held Doncic beneath 30 points in two of those contests. If Doncic matches his 30 points per game from the seeding games, he could give Dallas the chance to win a game or two against the Clippers.

If that output is backed up by decent performances from Tim Hardaway Jr. and Seth Curry, who were solid in the seeding games, the Mavericks could have backcourt scoring depth to be competitive.

That might not be the case for the Blazers against the Lakers if one or both of Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum are frustrated by the defense of LeBron James and others.

While there could be an abundance of players featuring in the box score, there is no guarantee we will see a high-scoring series, like the oddsmakers predict.

Only one of the three contests between the two sides eclipsed 230 points, and if Doncic is unable to hit the 30-point mark, the under could be the play for Game 1 and beyond. The series between Miami and Indiana carries the most intrigue in the East, but it could be over without being too competitive.

Both Milwaukee and Toronto are expected to cruise through their matchups, and Boston is a heavy favorite over Philadelphia. The promise for the No. 4 vs. No. 5 series to go the distance could be quelled by Miami’s defensive prowess, led by Jimmy Butler.

In the August 10 win over Indiana, Butler shut down T.J. Warren in the second half and no Indiana player scored more than 15 points. The good news for Indiana is Butler can only guard one player at a time, but it has not received the necessary production from other scorers to down the Heat.

In two meetings in December and January, the only Indiana scorer to reach over 20 points was Domantas Sabonis on January 8. Sabonis is currently out with an injury. If the Heat continue to slow down Indiana’s top scorers, they could overwhelm their first-round foe with the scoring depth they worked on in the bubble.

In its first six seeding games, Miami had five or more players reach double digits. Between the three-point prowess of Duncan Robinson and Tyler Herro, Bam Adebayo’s strength down low, Butler scoring from all angles and others chipping in when needed, the Heat could have too much scoring depth for Indiana to keep up with.

Nuggets vs Jazz Stream

Nuggets vs Jazz Stream: The Utah Jazz don’t exactly have a strong track record against the Denver Nuggets this season. Denver won all three matchups this season, all of which came with absent starters. Their 3-5 bubble record left plenty to be desired as well, and now, their time has run out. The playoffs are officially at hand, and the Nuggets are waiting for them in the first round. Either right the ship or go home.

The Clippers expect Montrezl Harrell, a candidate for Sixth Man of the Year, to clear quarantine and be active Monday night against the Mavericks, but Rivers isn’t certain how much Harrell will contribute.

Since Harrell returned to the bubble Aug. 10 — about three weeks after he left the Clippers and announced the death of his grandmother — the center has been quarantined in his hotel room for all but a half-hour each day.

For a short daily window, Harrell has left his room, Rivers said, to run on an outside field with a trainer watching from a distance. The limited movement, in addition to having a few pieces of exercise equipment in his room, has allowed Harrell to regain some conditioning while he participates in Clippers’ film sessions via video.

But because of the NBA’s rigid protocol to keep the Disney World bubble safe from COVID-19, Harrell is prohibited from working out indoors, including on a court.

Harrell hasn’t played in a game since before the coronavirus suspension began in mid-March, and Rivers wasn’t pleased with the seven-day quarantine mandate the NBA assigned Harrell upon his return to the bubble.

“We were really surprised he had to be in quarantine as long as he’s been in, considering other cases” when some players quarantined for shorter periods after leaving the bubble,” Rivers said. “But it is what it is, and the tough part is how much he’ll have tomorrow, if any.”

On the NBA’s injury report Sunday, Harrell (quarantine), Beverley (left calf strain) and Landry Shamet (left foot sprain) are questionable for Los Angeles. Kristaps Porzingis, who missed the Mavericks’ final seeding game to rest a left feel contusion) is probable.

The Los Angeles Clippers, led by Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, are built to win a title. The Dallas Mavericks, led by Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis, are built to score a ton of points.

Or at least this is the distinction that can be drawn from their respective track records. The Clippers will enter this 2-7 series as heavy favorites, having finished the regular season with elite efficiency marks on both ends. The Mavs are shaky defensively, but they have a simple and devastating formula on the other end: spread the floor with shooters, so Doncic can cook.

Doncic is an MVP-caliber playmaker shouldering a James Harden-like load in his second season. Porzingis is a 7-foot-3 dude who shoots from Damian Lillard distance. Leonard and George are more seasoned, more versatile and surrounded by a more well-rounded supporting cast, but if Dallas’ 3s are falling, it can beat anybody.

What follows is a digestible preview of the matchup in the form of three things to know. If you’re looking for a full schedule of the first round, which will be updated throughout, you can find that here. Doncic is a wizard of the highest order, and Porzingis averaged 30.5 points and 9.5 rebounds with a 61.7 percent true shooting percentage in six seeding games. Their skills are heightened by the Mavericks’ immaculate spacing, and the league has collectively failed to figured out how to stop them — this season, Dallas had the most efficient offense ever.

The Mavs will make Ivica Zubac and Montrezl Harrell stray from the paint. They will target Lou Williams in pick-and-rolls, and they might force Doc Rivers to make uncomfortable choices when it comes to lineups. But the Clippers will be a massive test, for Doncic and for the guys he’s setting up.

Los Angeles’ top-five defense is headlined by Leonard, George and all-time irritant Patrick Beverley. It is held together by a bunch of switchable role players. Dallas’ worst offensive game this season came against the Clippers on Nov. 26 — it scored 90 points per 100 possessions (and 78.2 per 100 in the halfcourt, which, gross!) despite Doncic going 14 for 16 from the free throw line. (The other matchups weren’t nearly as bad, but the Clippers won all of them.)

Going into the series, Doncic knows that an all-world defender will be assigned to him on every possession. Nobody stops superstars of his caliber, but Los Angeles at least has the personnel to make him work for it. If the Clippers blitz and trap Doncic, will his teammates punish them consistently? The Mavs shoot more 3s than everybody except the Rockets, but they’re only around league-average in accuracy. One fundamental problem the Clippers pose is that there aren’t many people alive who can credibly defend either Leonard or George, and they employ both of them. Dorian Finney-Smith is the Mavs’ best perimeter defender, and even though he’s not quite as strong as either star, I bet Rick Carlisle wishes they could clone him.

This means Tim Hardaway Jr. will likely match up with George. If this goes poorly, Carlisle could put Maxi Kleber in the starting lineup, but it’s not clear if he’s enough of an upgrade defensively to justify the sacrifice in spacing. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist is an emergency option — the Mavs threw him at Carmelo Anthony last week — but Los Angeles would give him the Tony Allen treatment.

Beyond the individual matchups, though, Dallas just isn’t all that stingy. It ranked 18th overall on defense, per Cleaning The Glass, and it gave up 121.1 points per 100 possessions in the seeding games. This doesn’t bode well against the second-best offense in the NBA, and if Porzingis is dropping on the pick-and-roll, it is too easy for Leonard and George:

Harrell hasn’t played in a competitive basketball game since March, as he left the bubble because of a family emergency before scrimmage games had even started. He is expected to have cleared quarantine and be available to play on Monday, but Los Angeles will presumably not play him heavy minutes right away.

This is the likely Sixth Man of the Year, a player who averaged 24.1 points and 9.2 rebounds per 36 minutes this season, one of the best pick-and-roll finishers in the league and a capable playmaker in his own right. I wonder if Rivers might tether his minutes to Williams’ at first, since it’s impossible to imagine them having trouble getting back in the swing of things.

As the series progresses, it’s worth paying attention to how Rivers adjusts his rotation. Who’s on the court in crunch time? How many minutes are available for JaMychal Green? Does Reggie Jackson stay in the picture? What about Landry Shamet? The Clippers are lucky to have plenty of options, and, typically, title teams need everybody to contribute at one point or another.

NBA Playoffs Round 1

NBA Playoffs Round 1: The NBA playoffs Round 1 are a best-of-seven exclusion tournament annually held after the National Basketball Association (NBA)s regular season to determine the league’s champion.

The NBA season restart in Orlando has provided profusion of entertainment for fans at dwelling, but following fans unable to physically attend games due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the league has found a other pretension to bring the heavens to the bubble.

In collaboration following Microsoft and Michelob Ultra, fans can register for ‘virtual seats’ at games, gone again 300 NBA fans invited to appear flesh and blood almost the “Michelob ULTRA Courtside” 17-foot video boards surrounding the court for each game at the Walt Disney World Resort.

Fans can digitally interact considering each auxiliary throughout the games using Microsoft’s “Together mode” to make a virtual experience, on-creating the feeling of sitting closely each choice, but from the comfort of your own domicile, even though giving the players a taste of the part and moving picture in the showground.

“Working as soon as our push and technology partners, we are fired to unveil a series of enhancements that will bring fans closer to the game and make a clean breast them to personalize their viewing experience,” said Sara Zuckert, NBA Head of Next Gen Telecast.

“Our target is to make an all right and immersive experience where fans can engage as soon as than each choice and retain a prudence of community as we restart the season knocked out these unique and challenging circumstances.”
Over 10 months after the 2019-20 NBA season began, the playoff sports ground is finally set, in the to the front the operate set to profit underway going on for the afternoon of Monday, Aug. 17. For the first era in league archives, the unyielding spot in the postseason portray was complimentary by a put it on-in game together in the middle of the eighth and ninth seeds in the Western Conference. The Portland Trail Blazers came out victorious on top of the Memphis Grizzlies in that game, and thus they will incline off subsequently than-door to the severity-seeded Los Angeles Lakers in the first round.

Due to the extension to pretend inside of the bubble at Disney World, habitat-court advantage has been largely eliminated this year, past there is no travel, no fans in attendance, and no definite dwelling or away teams. Otherwise, the format remains the largely same, once the peak eight teams in each conference playing best-of-seven series, and the winner of each conference meeting in the Finals, which are scheduled to begin coarsely Sept. 30.
After a propos a five-month hiatus and eight seeding games inside an unprecedented Disney World bubble, the most unique NBA playoff season in records is set to commence. No fans. No quarters-court advantage. Nothing but basketball in its purest form, and this year’s title race atmosphere broad associations in chronicles.

After the quirk Damian Lillard and the Blazers rolled through the eight seeding games and a play in-in game vs. Memphis, they have been a hot mishap choose hostile to the top-seeded Lakers. But our adept unanimously disagree. Nobody picked the Blazers to profit toting uphill LeBron James and Co., even though they might just make things hard.
The sixth-seeded Utah Jazz will be without starting narrowing guard Mike Conley as they gate the playoffs adjoining the Denver Nuggets.

The team announced one hours of daylight prior to Game 1 that Conley had departed Orlando, Florida for Columbus, Ohio to be considering his wife as they traditional their third son.
Per the league’s COVID-19 policies, Conley will have to quarantine for at least four days on the subject of his compensation to Florida, meaning he will likely miss at least the first two games of the first-round series surrounded by than than Denver.

He’s usual an outpouring of maintain for his teammates for a decision that’s much augmented than basketball.

The 32-year-early was start to locate his stride, averaging 18.0 points, 5.0 assists and 3.0 rebounds subsequently more six games during the NBA restart. In his absence, Joe Ingles, Donovan Mitchell and Jordan Clarkson will have enough maintenance more playmaking responsibilities.

The Utah Jazz and Denver Nuggets right to use going on the 2020 NBA Playoffs as they meet at 11 p.m. upon Monday, Aug. 17.

Damian Lillard is the symbol of the bubble, and the credited Player of the Seeding Games. (Does he profit a trophy? He should make a get of a trophy.) Portland has scored 123.8 points per 100 possessions subsequent to him regarding the floor in Orlando, and its best lineup — once CJ McCollum, Gary Trent Jr., Carmelo Anthony and Jusuf Nurkic adjoining him — has scored 133.1 per 100 in 73 minutes.

To appear in even nerdier: Only gone in the Blazers’ eight seeding games did they score fewer than 118 points per 100 possessions in non-trash-period minutes, per Cleaning The Glass. Their excuse has been a train wreck, but they’ve looked in serve a juggernaut subsequently than the ball in their — OK, mostly Lillard’s — hands.

Lillard dropped 48 points concerning 17-for-30 shooting in a 127-119 victory the last become pass these teams met, and he did it without Anthony or Nurkic. That was one of the strangest games of the season, though, the first the Lakers played after the death of Kobe Bryant. Los Angeles was the third-best defensive team in the regular season, and, according to Cleaning The Glass, ranked first adjoining the peak-10 offenses in the league.

How much will the Lakers attempt to waylay Lillard and force him into the future going on once the maintenance for the ball taking place? This is a dangerous game gone Nurkic in the center of the floor, McCollum a propos the wing and Anthony in the corner, but it becomes a more appealing substitute considering Portland has reserves in version to the court. Los Angeles figures to miss the approximately-ball defense of Avery Bradley here; expect Danny Green, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Alex Caruso to spend period as Lillard’s primary defender.

Celtics vs 76ers Live

Celtics vs 76ers Live: The Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers will renew their rivalry Monday night in Game 1 of their Stream first round NBA playoff series.

Yes, this might go the distance even if Sixers point guard Ben Simmons is out for the season after undergoing knee surgery last week.

Sixers center Joel Embiid will need to be a 30-point monster for No. 6 Philly to stage the upset over No. 3 Boston, drawing double-teams and opening it up for Tobias Harris and Al Horford.

Brett Brown’s job could depend on it, though the pandemic-induced economic uncertainty could save him.

This is an intriguing battle of an old-school big team like Philly against the small-ball Celtics, whose young gun Jayson Tatum has looked marvellous.

The Celtics look too athletic for the Sixers’ defense to keep in front of them. The bubble loss to the Nets, who were without Caris LeVert, Joe Harris and Jarett Allen along with other no-shows, illustrated the Bucks’ Disney woes, though they rested Giannis Antetokounmpo for the second half.

The league’s hottest team cooled off in Disney with a 3-5 record but finished with a league-best 56-17 clip.

The frustration boiled over for Antetokounmpo, the MVP favorite who got suspended for a head-butting incident.

The Lopez brothers are manning the defensive interior well, but Milwaukee is allowing a ton of 3-pointers.

On the other end, The Greek Freak better shoot respectively from deep or the title drought will extend and his future becomes cast in doubt.

The Bucks’ (1971) dry spell is already longer than the Knicks. The Heat, who missed the playoffs two of the last three seasons, are the little engine that could.

Butler’s emergence in his first year in Miami has had a spectacular effect. Butler said last week Miami can win it all.

If Butler’s young Minnesota teammates had listened and learned from this winner, Tom Thibodeau would still be Wolves coach/president.

The 4-5 battle against Indiana becomes a simpler task for Miami with the Pacers missing arguably the NBA’s most underrated player in Domantas Sabonis, who is out with a foot injury.

Then again, Butler may be the NBA’s most underrated star. And it’s not to watch how ex-Knick Marcus Morris fits in with Los Angeles.

The 7-foot-3 Kristaps Porzingis will make his playoff debut after a sensational bubble showing — his best stretch as a Maverick.

Last week, the once-disgruntled Latvian romped for 36 points in 36 minutes (12 of 17 with seven 3-pointers) against the Blazers.

But KP6 and superstar Luka Doncic must play off each other to stand a chance against the Clippers.

This is Mavs owner Mark Cuban’s first playoff appearance since 2016.

That’s a lot of “Shark Tank” episodes in between.

The Dallas Morning News recently published a story on whether Doncic is the greatest 21-year-old in NBA history as Dallas set the league’s all-time record for best offensive rating in a season. The NBA season restart in Orlando has provided plenty of entertainment for fans at home, but with fans unable to physically attend games due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the league has found a new way to bring the atmosphere to the bubble.
